If you have an idea for a commissioned painting that you would want, contact me via e-mail, US Mail or by phone (after 6:00PM Eastern Time) and describe your idea to me. I have a very large railroad slide collection and I have many action shots of many Class One and Two operations plus many shortlines from all over the US and Canada to work from. If you have a specific photo, or a combination of images and locations that you like, I can work from them to create a unique painting. The complexity of a painting is figured into the cost. The number of trains, locomotives, bridges, structures and scenery will be estimated into the price of your painting. For certain subjects, I may need additional photos or images of the subject matter from you.

Although I tend to focus on railroads in the Southeastern United States, I do enjoy painting railroads from other areas of the US including Canada and Mexico. I paint mostly first, second and third generation diesel locomotives, but I have done some steam. If you have an idea for a commissioned painting, I would like to hear from you!

I request a third of the price agreed upon when the work is commissioned. You will be sent a receipt after the deposit is received. The other two-thirds is due when the painting is completed. Commissioned work is painted in the order received. Most paintings are completed within three to four weeks, sometimes faster, depending on size and complexity. I can e-mail digital images of the progress of a painting if you desire. Also with the second payment, you will need to include an additional $25 dollars to cover shipping, handling and insurance charges. The price of the painting does include double matting. At this time, I do not provide framing services.

All paintings are watercolor and I utilize only the best quality English tube watercolors. I use only the finest acid-free cotton rag paper, mostly 300 to 400 pound varieties.
